The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating an overnight shooting that left a 24-year-old woman wounded. 

IPSO spokesman Maj. Wendell Raborn said the shooting happened in the 700 block of West Pershing Street around 10 p.m. Monday. Raborn said deputies believe an unknown suspect shot at a male who was outside the home but the bullet hit the woman. 

The victim was taken to Iberia Medical Center, where she was treated and released. Investigators have not been able to locate the intended victim or a suspect.
