Washington lifts Tigers past OC; Panthers roll

FRANKLIN — Broc Romero, Peter LeBlanc and Avery Guidry combined to pitch a no-hitter and the Panthers scored five runs in each of the third, fourth and fifth innings to beat Franklin 15-0 Tuesday to clinch a share of the District 7-2A baseball title with one district game left to play.

Romero struck out six and walked on in three innings, LeBlanc struck out the side in his one inning of work and Guidry struck out two in an inning as the Panthers improved to 20-9 overall and 10-1 in district.

CHS can wrap up the district title outright Thursday when the Hornets come to CHS.

Dylan LeBlanc had three hits and two RBIs. Peter LeBlanc had two hits and an RBI and Romero had a hit and two RBIs for CHS.

Franklin fell to 9-17 and 4-7.

Loreauville 14, Delcambre 0

DELCAMBRE — Shajuan Nora had three hits and Caleb Washington pitched a one-hitter as Loreauville beat Delcambre in five innings in District 7-2A Tuesday.

Washington struck out seven batters. Peyton Crumb and Jobe Hebert each had two hits for the Tigers, who scored seven runs in the first inning to take control of the game and cruise to the mercy-rule win.

The two teams meet against in Loreauville Thursday in the district finale for both teams.

With the win, LHS improved to 18-9 overall and 8-3 in district while Delcambre fell to 12-13, 6-5.
