The Iberia Parish Community Emergency Response Team is conducting a disaster preparedness workshop in Delcambre to help establish awareness of potential disasters locally and how to prepare in order to protect oneself, family and property. 

The workshop offered will focus on Teche Area residents helping neighbors prepare and respond when a disaster takes place. 

The workshop is scheduled to be held Thursday at the Shrimp Festival Building in Delcambre. The workshop starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m. 

Participants will receive sample emergency kids, training materials and a brown bag dinner, as well as being registered for a chance to win door prizes. 

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for registration. Pre-registration is not required.
