JEANERETTE — A Celebration of Life Services for Gordon Landry Sr., 61, will be held at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2018, at David Funeral Home of Jeanerette, 400 Provost St., Jeanerette. According to his wishes, cremation will follow the services.

Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Jeanerette on Friday, May 4, 2018, from 1 p.m. until time of service. Recitation of the Rosary will be prayed on Friday, May 4, 2018, at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.

Gordon was a native and resident of Jeanerette, he went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at 12:57 a.m. at his residence with his family with him. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. He was a simple man that if he could not catch it, grow it or kill it, he didn’t eat it. He loved all his children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews and his beloved dog “Buddy” as well as Hilda and Joe Buteau whom he looked at as his step-parents. Gordon held numerous jobs; some of the ones were Hadley’s Pest Control, Alumia Ship, Cruise Fabricators and twenty-eight years at Estes Refractory. He enjoyed fishing until he became sick and was not able to.

He is survived by his children Tonya Landry of Jeanerette, Nicole Hinkle and husband, Jason, of Jeanerette, Gordon “Spot” Landry Jr. of Jeanerette, David Landry and wife, Dina, of Jeanerette; siblings Marlene Bacon and husband, Eddie, of Osyka, Mississippi, Goldie Breaux and husband, Brent, of Jeanerette, Titus Landry Jr. of Jeanerette, Tesa Young and husband, Mike, of Broussard, Audrey “Pee Wee” Hebert and husband, Buck Wheat, of Jeanerette, Arthur Landry and companion, Dawn Charpentier, of Jeanerette and Melissa “Mut” Bayard and husband, Danny, of Lydia. All his friends were special whether they were friends since his younger years or a co-worker, all had a special place in his heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Audrey Pepper and Titus Landry.

Pallbearers will be Spot Landry, David Landry, Jason Hinkle, Titus Landry, Arthur Landry, R. J. Boudreaux, Brent Breaux, Mike Young, Danny Bayard, Buck Wheat Hebert and Eddie Bacon.

Gordon’s family would like to send a Special Thanks to the employees of Estes Refractory.
