COTEAU — A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Coteau for Brandon J. Bourque, 24, who passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018, in Lafayette.

Entombment will follow in the church mausoleum, with military honors by the Acadiana Veterans Honor Guard.

Rev. Brian Harrington will be the Celebrant.

A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday from 9 a.m. until Noon at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia.

A resident of Coteau, Brandon was born on July 19, 1993, and was a 2011 graduate of Westgate High School. He proudly served our country as a helicopter mechanic in the U.S. Marines, serving tours South Korea and Afghanistan, and was employed with E.P. Breaux Electric. Brandon enjoyed playing video games, riding his motorcycle, and going to the gun range.

Survivors include his wife, Karley Delahoussaye Bourque of Coteau; parents, Raymond and Suzette Melancon Bourque of Coteau; son Eli Joseph Bourque of Coteau; sister Blair Viator and husband Carl of New Iberia; brother Brock Bourque of New Iberia; goddaughter Emma Claire Viator of New Iberia; and niece Kinlee Kate Viator of New Iberia.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marguerite Melancon, Necess Melancon Sr., Jarwin Joseph Bourque Sr., Carol Ann Bourque; Godmother Sandra Melancon Tassin; uncles Jarwin Bourque Jr., Michael James Melancon, Mercy James Melancon, Fred Allen Melancon; Karley’s grandparents, Wyva Mae and JC Delahoussaye.

Pallbearers will be Raymond Bourque, Brock Bourque, Alan “Poochie” Stansbury, Chase Melancon, Cody Richard, and Carl Viator.

Honorary pallbearers include David Cobb, Brianna “Brie Brie” Lynn, Ricky Bourque, and Josh “Red” Bourque.
