Westgate falls in semifinals

Chipper Menard held Westgate to one bit and struck out 11 over seven innings as No. 3 seed Deridder beat the No. 31 seed Tigers 3-0 Friday in the Class 4 A semifinals.
Deridder scored one run in the third and two more runs in the fourth and made them hold up against the Tigers.
Westgate had runners in scoring position in the second, fourth and sixth innings but couldn’t get the hit needed to score.
