A community outreach group called Jesus D.I.V.A.S. hosted an educational and motivational Fashion Show & Conference called “From Girls To Pearls” for young girls from 9 to 13 years of age. The goal was to show young ladies on how to display Christian characteristics, how to be successful, confident, how to carry themselves with self-respect and dignity and to maintain their purity while being radiant from within.
This event highlighted three speakers. Sherry Guidry, a minister and city councilwoman of District 5, spoke on “You can be what you dream,” and being persistent. All things are possible through Christ Jesus who strengthens us. Her daughter Gracie Guidry accompanied her.
Lutrica Davis ministered on “Being Radiant from Within” and five characteristics of Godly young ladies.
Monica David ministered on, “What’s Happening to My Body.”
Miracle Latigue, an 11-year-old who attends Assembly Christian School, founded the group. Upon sharing her vision with four school friends, Eliana Comer, Krysta Landry, Makenna Laviolette and Lila Anderson and Cor’nasha Frelot who attends Magnolia Elementary, they were eager to help make a difference in their community.
Jesus D.I.V.A.S. Outreach has acquired several new members seeking to have a better understanding of GOD’s beautiful message of Christian characteristics of service in charity, unity, love, faith and self-respect. Connecting with other young people desiring to be the change they want to see in the world. The event was informative to both mothers and daughters addressing the mission is to plant good seeds to have great leaders.
The free event wishes to thank, The Ramada Inn and staff, DJ for the hour MZ, Kay Gilbert, Mrs. Marla for decorating, Kathy Pierre for the beautiful gifts and helping out with preparing the care packs for the young ladies and to all the parents that helped out in so many ways.
