Crime symposium set for Thursday

The New Iberia Neighborhood Watch in conjunction with SMILE Community Action Agency, New Iberia Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta and the Iberia Parish Chapter of the NAACP will put on a symposium on local crime Thursday at the Sliman Theater starting at 6 p.m. 

Panelists include New Iberia Mayor Freddie DeCourt, New Iberia Police Chief Todd D’Albor, NIPD Patrol Captain John Babin, NIPD investigations division Captain Corey Porter, future Iberia Parish School Board Superintendent Carey Laviolette, Iberia Parish Student Services Director James Russell III and New Iberia City Judge Trey Haik. 

 The public is invited to attend.
