Mr. and Mrs. Dwain Andrew Stelly of New Iberia are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Alix Beth Stelly to Richard Stephen Devine, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Henry Schneider of Katy, Texas, and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Joseph Devine, Sr. of Rosebud, Texas.

The couple will be wed at 6 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2018, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in New Iberia. Mrs. Stelly is the former Michele Dauterive of New Iberia. Mrs. Schneider is the former Deborah Morales of Houston.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Judith Trahan Dauterive of New Iberia and the late Mr. Edward “Eddie” Dauterive III, and Mr. A.D. Stelly of Opelousas and the late Mrs. Mercedes Angelle Stelly. Miss Stelly is a 2005 graduate of Catholic High School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English education in 2008 as well as a Master of Education degree in gifted education in 2014 from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Alix currently resides in New Iberia where she is employed by Catholic High School as a high school English teacher and ninth grade class sponsor.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Mrs. Anna Morales of Houston, Texas, and the late Mr. Richard Morales, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry Devine, formerly of Houston, Texas. Mr. Devine is a 2003 graduate of Strake Jesuit College Preparatory School in Houston and received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration in 2007 as well as a Master of Education degree in 2010 from Emory & Henry College in Emory, Virginia. Stephen resides in Youngsville and is employed by Episcopal School of Acadiana as a physical education teacher, middle school athletic director and girls soccer coach.
