Monday night’s shooting near the intersection of Fulton and North streets that wounded three people was the result of an argument, according to the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Maj. Wendell Raborn, IPSO spokesman, said Tuesday that Phillip Olivier was in a vehicle in the area when the dispute ensued with an unidentified female driver. Gunshots resulted during the argument with Curleyreus Abraham.

Olivier suffered a gunshot wound to the arm, and Abraham was shot in the shoulder. The driver also was shot. All three are in stable condition.

The shooting happened at approximately 5:30 p.m.

Abraham was charged with two counts of attempted second-degree murder, illegal use of a weapon and possession of a firearm in a firearm free zone. Olivier was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Both are in the Iberia Parish Jail, with no bond set.
