A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church in New Iberia for Charles Edward Froisy, 91, who passed away on Friday, May 25, 2018, in Lafayette.

Entombment will follow in the church mausoleum.

Rev. Ed Degeyter will be the Celebrant.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church, 130 N. Richelieu Circle, in New Iberia, on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Froisy was born on January 8, 1927 to the late Thomas and Anita Gaudin Froisy, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served our country during World War II. He was a humble man who enjoyed nature, gardening, feeding the birds and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Laura Comeaux Froisy of New Iberia; daughters, Bobbie Verret and husband Glynn of New Iberia, Beth Comeaux and husband Mousey of New Iberia; son, Karl Froisy and wife Carol of Holly Ridge, North Carolina; stepson, Kenneth Carrere and wife Roni of Lafayette; stepdaughter, Anne Peltier and husband Jason of Broussard; grandchildren, Charles Verret and wife Amy, Jeremy Verret, John Froisy; step-grandchildren, Lauren Peltier, Hannah Peltier, Madelyn Carrere, Kathryn Carrere, Ashlee Gary and husband Chad Gary, Shane Comeaux and wife Van; five great grandchildren, and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Emette Froisy, Alton Froisy, Francis Froisy, and sisters, Rhena Froisy and Cecile Froisy.
