After being rained out the first week, the summer soccer season got underway Tuesday as Teche Area high schools played a series of games at the Louisiana PepperPlex.
Tuesday’s game featured the Catholic High girls playing Erath, NISH boys playing Erath boys and Westgate girls playing Vermilion Catholic. NISH girls and Catholic High boys didn’t play Tuesday.
The games continue each Tuesday throughout June and into the first couple of weeks in July with a break the first week of July for the Independence Day holiday.
The first round of games start at 5:30 p.m. and the second round start at 7 p.m.
The 2018-19 high school season begins with first practice on Monday, Oct. 22, and the first games will be played Monday, Nov. 12.
