Memorial Services will be conducted for Mrs. Robert “Bob” Berry Sr., the former Mary Guidry, 69, at 11 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2018, at Evangeline Funeral Home with Fr. Ed Degeyter officiating. Inurnment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Friday with a Rosary at 10 a.m.  

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Berry passed away at 7:50 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Maison Teche Nursing Home.

Mary was a graduate of Mt Carmel in New Iberia in 1967. She volunteered at Iberia General for numerous years. She taught in Iberia Parish School System and helped develop the Pre K program at Epiphany Day School. Mary was very talented and enjoyed sewing, gardening, baking and Yoga. She was also an amazing artist that excelled at pastel and charcoal, and was taught by the well–respected artist, Oscar Ortiz. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert “Bob” Berry Sr. of New Iberia; one son Robert Berry Jr. of New Iberia; two daughters Tammy Ronsonet and husband, Chad and Michelle Ronsonet and husband, Tim, all of Youngsville; seven grandchildren Robert “Trip” Berry III, Alex Michelle Ronsonet, Brock Ronsonet, Landon Ronsonet, Carson Ronsonet, Derrick Ronsonet and Hollie Ronsonet; two great-grandchildren Elijah Ronsonet and Liam Ronsonet; two brothers David James Guidry  and wife, Kim, of Coteau and William Brent Guidry and wife, Dawn, of New Iberia and two sisters Bonnie Guidry McNeese and husband, Wayne and Fran Guidry Segura and husband, Judge Robert Segura Sr., all of New Iberia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac Newton Guidry Jr. and Theresa “Tee” Babineaux Guidry.

Memorial donations may be made in her name to Alzheimers Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.

The family would like to thank the nurses, CNA’s and staff of Maison Teche Nursing home and Grace Hospice for all of their care and compassion.
