Allen “Loon” Joseph Cole Sr.

Private services were held for Allen “Loon” Joseph Cole, Sr., 71, who was born June 9, 1947 to the union of the late Lyman Cole and Lovenia Wiltz Cole in St. Martinville.  

A longtime resident of New Iberia, he was married to the former Harriet Demouchet and they were blessed with three children. He worked for many years as a Cable man for South Central Bell before retiring. 

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four siblings Sylvester Cole, Lawrence Cole Sr., Mary Lorena Broussard and Lovenia Cole Bonhomme. Allen, also known as “Gangsta as well as “High Pocket” peacefully passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018, in New Iberia, with his family at his side following a brief illness.

Allen leaves those to cherish his life and memory include his wife, Harriet  Cole of New Iberia; his three children Allen (Bridgette Williams) Cole Jr, Tracy (Kenneth Boudreaux) Cole and Sue Ellen (Davis) Gaddison, all of New Iberia; five siblings Lyman Cole Jr. and Paul (Mary) Cole, both of New Iberia, Melvin (Lorena) Cole, Theresa Mason and Louanna Jospeh ll of St. Martinville; six grandchildren Raven Cole, Trevis Louis, JaBrynti Davis, Brittney Davis, Donald Pradia Jr. and Dontae Cole; three great-grandchildren, Rhyli Madise, Nylah Louis and Tailey Louis; three special nieces Stella Broussard, Layneisha Broussard and Korlee Broussard; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
