We will be celebrating the life of John C Dugan on Friday, 22 June 2018, at 7 p.m. at Living Glory Ministries/Hope Campus, 1797 Declouet Hwy, Breaux Bridge, LA 70517, with Pastor Randy Rodriguez officiating.

Lloyd and Georgette (Gonzales) Dugan gave John the gift of life on 07 December, 1955; the 7th of 9 children. And what a life he lived, for 62 years! John walked into Glory on 12 June, 2018.

A native of New Iberia and resident of Breaux Bridge (Butte LaRose) which he shared with his loving wife and soulmate, Rhonda (Lane) Dugan, and mother in law, Patsy (Spivey) Brannon. John loved his family, his church and his friends. And he wished everyone could find the happiness that he and Rhonda shared.

He was employed with Charters Etc. and loved transporting the personnel from here to there. He loved his boss, and to quote him, “Kris is more like family than she is a boss.” He prayed for her business to succeed over all transport companies in the area! He loved his time with the company! John was the definition of a humble Christian. He did not judge nor boast. He listened and responded with love and care and the best advice he could give for the situation. He was quick to forgive and did not hold a grudge.

John loved deeply and shared his smile with everyone he met. His love for God was relentless and he was always eager to search the Word for the Truth. He was a member of Living Glory Ministries/Hope Campus, the Coupled in Christ small group, and he proudly served on the praise and worship team! He enjoyed all the family gatherings, the Coupled in Christ group meetings and the Dugan family reunions! Mostly, he enjoyed his family and his life. He loved to fish, to eat crawfish or a big ol’ ribeye. He wasn’t picky. He truly enjoyed singing, playing his guitar and making a joyful noise unto the Lord, and for his family. He loved fixing things, anything for anyone, and to quote Joni, “If he didn’t know how to fix it for you, he would download a manual, read a book or take a class so he could fix it.” That might be why he had so many projects at any given time. Oh and COFFEE, he really enjoyed coffee!

Although we are extremely emotional over John’s passing, we are comforted in knowing that he was welcomed into the arms of our heavenly Father. As his goddaughter Holly pointed out, he has simply gone fishin’ with the Master of the Sea!

John was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Georgette (Gonzales) Dugan, two infant siblings, a sister Mildred Rita (Dugan) Robichaux, and a brother Walter Lloyd Dugan, as well as all of his grandparents, a great nephew, several uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by his three daughters and two sons in love, Adia and OJ Blanchard, Terrie Brown, and Joni and Michael Homan, and his only son and daughter in love, Christopher John and Mary (Schultz) Dugan, and Rhonda’s children or as he called them his additional children and their spouses in love, Richard and Ashley Robertson, Robert Copeland, and Heaven and Jacob Barras. He was Poppy to 21 grandchildren Trinity, Alexis, Emily, Abigail, Zoe, Alyssa, Ocean, Maria, Tyler, Elijah, Austin, Sophia, Ireland, Izzy, Sadiya, Liam, Nathan, Dixie, Bentley, Ella, and Aoife, and great grandpoppy to Cameron Marks Jr. and his brother WHO is on the way. His sisters Irene Dugan, Dixie Comeaux, and Tracy Sananikone, one brother Timothy Dugan, one sister in law Serita Dugan, two brothers in law Mark Comeaux and Thomas L. Robichaux. His parents in law, Gary and Jackie Landry, several godchildren and a multitude of nieces, nephews and cousins, including Mike Williams and his wife Nancy. He loved each and every one of you very much.
