The Acadiana Symphony plays during the ‘Stars & Stripes’ concert last summer in New Iberia.

The Iberia Cultural Resources Association will honor local military veterans Sunday with a concert that includes top-notch orchestras and plenty of patriotic music.

The annual “Stars & Stripes – A Musical Celebration” concert, scheduled to be held at the Sugar Cane Festival Building, will include the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra, along with the Iberia Swamp Band presenting an event honoring local veterans. The concert is free and open to the public.

Music will include patriotic jazz, broadway and World War II era genres.

Organizer Nelwyn Hebert said approximately 60 veterans have been contacted to attend the concert. The ICRA singles out and recognizes each of those veterans during the event so that the general public can thank them for their service to the country.

The event will take place 3 p.m. Sunday at the Sugar Cane Festival Building. Complimentary picture also will be taken for veterans and their guests from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. in the lobby of the building.

For those who may know a veteran, there is time to make a reservation. To RSVP, call or text Nelwyn Hebert nelwyn@cox.net or 967-2018.

Please give your name, address, phone number, branch of service in which you served, and number of persons attending the program with you.
