Matthew A. Horn

JEANERETTE — A Mass of Christian burial will be held for Matthew A. Horn Jr., at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Jody Simoneaux celebrating the Mass.  

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday, July 7, 2018, from 8 a.m. until the time of services at 10 a.m.

Mr. Matthew passed away at 8:04 a.m. on Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at Lafayette General Hospital while surrounded by his loving family. 

Some of his hobbies included camping, hunting, fishing and riding motorcycles. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mrs. Audry Horn; his son Mark Horn and wife, Lori, of New Iberia, son Luke Horn Sr. of Carencro and son John Rilla Horn and wife, Ann-Marie, of Jeanerette; grandchildren Coy Horn, Caleb Horn, Luke Horn Jr., Joel Horn, Danine “Nin” Horn, Brionne “Bri” Horn and Nicklas Horn; great-grandchildren Asher Horn, Aven Horn, Jaxon Horn, Luke Horn III, Avery Horn and Bailey Horn; and with a host of nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Matthew A. Horn Sr.; his mother, Mae Bodin Horn; his brother James Horn; and his sister Lynn LaSalle. 

Upholding the honor of pallbearers will be Mark Horn, Luke Horn Sr., John Rilla Horn, Luke Horn Jr., Joel Horn and Caleb Horn. Honorary pallbearers will be Danine Horn and Nicklas Horn.
