Funeral services for Roy Joseph Doiron will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at St. John the Evangelist Parish Hall in Jeanerette.

The family will receive visitors beginning at 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 11 a.m. by the Knights of Columbus. The final blessing will be by Father Charles Langlois.

Interment will follow at the St. John the Evangelist Mausoleum.

Roy Joseph Doiron, 87, a native resident of Jeanerette, Louisiana passed away peacefully Thursday night, July 5, 2018 at Maison Teche Nursing Center in Jeanerette. He was a member of St. John Evangelist Catholic Church of Jeanerette, Knight of Columbus Jeanerette

Council 1425 and local rosary groups.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a hard worker and for almost 40 years worked in the Adeline Oilfield as a gang foreman and ARCO operator. Roy enjoyed visits with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, going to the casino, playing cards, helping others when in need, and loved singing his cowboy songs at the local nursing homes and to anyone who would listen. He was especially proud of being a Fourth-Degree Knight.

He is survived by his daughter Janice Berthelot of Jeanerette; two grandchildren Raymond Berthelot Jr. and wife Kelli of Youngsville, and Angel Mason of Catahoula; his two great grandchildren, Lexi Mason & Jancie Berthelot.

Roy now reunites in his heavenly home with his wife of 67 years, Georgette Doiron; his parents Azema Meyer & Johnny Doiron; brothers Alton and Freddie Bodin, Joseph “Jun” Meyer and sister Mildred Lancon.

Upholding the honor of pallbearers will be Raymond Berthelot Jr., Raymond Berthelot Sr., Ross Mason, Ivan Jumonville, Cardell Jumonville, John Boudreaux, and Jimmy Pellerin.

Honorary pallbearers will be all family and friends who knew and loved him.

The family would like to express special thanks to Maison Teche and Bridgeway Hospice for the tender, loving care provided and all those who came to visit him.
