Joseph Washington, 61, a native and residence of Jeanerette, died Friday, July 6, 2018, at Lafayette General Hospital. 

Visitation will be observed on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Otis Mortuary Chapel, 501 Willow St., Franklin, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with funeral service also at Otis Mortuary Chapel on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at 11 a.m. Minister Apostle Edward Williams will be the officiant.

Mr. Washington is survived by his wife, Emma Smith Washington, of Jeanerette; one son, Lance P. Washington of Jeanerette; one daughter Lawanda and husband, Apostle Edward Williams of Port Arthur, Texas; nine brothers, William (Bridget) Jenkins Jr. of Jennings, Arbel J. Connor of Hampton, Georgia, Kim P. Connor of Baldwin, Donald (Phyllis) Connor of Charenton, George (Shirley) Washington of New Iberia, Gerome Silas, Joseph Silas, Mark (Mabel) Silas and Jermain Silas, all of Jeanerette; six sisters, Bessie (Murphy) Daurbigny and Yvette (Brad) Tyler, both of Jeanerette; Carlene (Lema) Boutte and Shelia Connor, both of Franklin, Mary (Rickey) Achangel of Port Arthur, Texas and Gwen (George) Angel of St. Martinville; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. 

Otis Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.
