IPJ has a new warden

From staff reports

Iberia Parish Sheriff Louis Ackal has announced a new warden for the Iberia Parish Jail.

Maj. Paul Scott, who has served as warden since December 2013, will be leaving the IPSO July 15.

According to a statement from Maj. Wendell Raborn, Scott was responsible for bringing the IPJ into compliance with the state Department of Corrections’ accreditation standards.

“The Iberia Parish Jail has been able to maintain the DOC standards of accreditation every year under the leadership of Major Scott,” Raborn said. “Major Scott came to the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office in 2013 from St. Mary Parish and he will be returning home as the new warden of the St. Mary Parish Jail.”

Replacing Scott is Capt. Anthony Green, who will be promoted to major and take the position. Green, who has been with the IPSO since 2008, was in charge of the Special Services Division, which works closely with the Correctional Division providing work details for trustee inmates.
