Executive session set for SM council

ST. MARTINVILLE — The St. Martinville City Council will go into executive session at tonight’s meeting to discuss the creation and filling of two personnel positions.
The council also will consider paying St. Martinville Mayor Melinda Mitchell a monthly auto allowance, as well as a resolution to open a credit card and checking account at Community First Bank.
St. Martinville City Councilman Craig Prosper will introduce a resolution to request the state trim trees overhanging Louisiana 31 along Evangeline State Park, and a resolution to consider adopting an ordinance installing culverts in ditches or driveways in the city.
St. Martinville Police Chief Ricky Martin will discuss increasing fine amounts in the city. He also will update the council on a DARE program grand that was approved.
The meeting takes place 6 p.m. today at St. Martinville City Hall.
