The St. Martinville Police Department has arrested a man for attempted murder.

On July 22, 2018, at approximately 2:30 a.m., St Martinville Police Department responded to a call of a disturbance on Berard St. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the caller, Juan Galicia, who said he was involved in an altercation and had beaten someone up. 

Officers located Randy Ledet laying on the roadway bleeding from the head. Acadian Ambulance responded and transported Ledet to a local hospital. Galicia admitted to beating Ledet in the head with a piece of concrete during the altercation. Ledet is currently listed in critical condition. 

Juan Galicia has been arrested and booked into the St. Martin Parish Jail for attempted second degree murder.
