RYNELLA — A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted for Howard Jules Boudreaux, 81, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at St. Marcellus Catholic Church with Fr. James Nguyen officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Friday from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday from 8 a.m. until service time.
A native of New Iberia and resident of Avery Island, Mr. Boudreaux passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Howard was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army after the Korean Conflict of 1957. After his discharge, he went to work in Houston from 1959 to 1969 working on building high risers as a foreman. He returned to New Iberia and worked for Perry Burke from 1969 to 1972, working his way into building new homes and remodeling from 1972 to 1987. Howard went to work for McIlhenny in 1987 and retired in December 1998. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting deer, duck and wild hogs.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Dorothy Jemelka Boudreaux; children Penny Slay and husband, Joe, of Conroe, Texas, Sandy Romero of New Iberia and Jason Boudreaux and wife, Karen, of New Iberia; stepchildren Kenneth Neisser and wife, Darlene, of New Iberia, Darrell Neisser and wife, Debbie, of New Iberia and Clarence Roy Neisser Sr. and wife, Shirley, of New Iberia; sisters Jeanette Mouret and husband, Henry, of New Iberia, Beverly Bellot and husband, Carlin, of Cade, Ruth Boutte and husband, Allen, of Jeanerette, Deborah Broussard and husband, Brian, of New Iberia and Judy Bullard of New Iberia; brothers Tony Hebert and wife, Francois, of New Iberia, Floyd Boudreaux and wife, Earline, of Abbeville, Carrol Boudreaux and wife, Harriet, of Loreauville, Wilson Boudreaux Jr. and wife, Betty, of Abbeville and Karl Boudreaux of New Iberia; grandsons Marcus Migues of New Iberia, Cody Castille and wife, Megan, of New Iberia, Stephen Uggen and wife, Megan, of Lafayette, Taylor Romero and wife, Angeleigha, of Youngsville, Chase Boudreaux and Ryan Romero; step-grandchildren Brian Neisser and wife, Brittany, of New Iberia, Justin Neisser of New Iberia, Summer Culipher and husband, BJ, of Greenville, Texas, Jessica Ho and husband, Sun, of New Iberia, Brittany Neisser of New Iberia, Clarence Roy Neisser Jr. of New Iberia and Nicki Neisser of New Iberia; great-grandchildren London Migues, McKenzie Migues, Braidyn Castille, Cameron Castille, Cole Castille and Alias Uggen; and step great-grandchildren Airiana, Aaliyah, Aalayna, Alyssa and Aiden Neisser, Devin and Madison Ho, Icelynn, Irelynn and Phayrath McKensie, Noah Hyman and Carson, Chole Culipher, Novalyn Uggen and Riley Neisser.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Emily Rogers Boudreaux; daughter Angela Boudreaux; stepsons Keith and David Neisser; brother James Hebert; sister Genevieve Thibodeaux; nephew Glenn Thibodeaux; and step great-grandson Ethan Neisser.
Pallbearers will be Marcus Migues, Cody Castille, Stephen Uggen, Taylor Romero, Ryan Romero and Chase Romero.
Honorary pallbearers will be Alias Uggen, Braidyn, Cameron and Cole Castille and London and McKenzie Migues.
His family is grateful to his caregivers.
