- The two occupants of this vehicle suffered minor injuries after the car hit two utility poles Saturday.
The New Iberia Police Department is investigating a crash Saturday evening that knocked down two utility poles on Main Street.
Chief Todd D’Albor said officers responded to a report of a crash involving injuries on the 800 block of East Main Street. Upon arrival, officers saw that a white Honda smashed into two utility poles after running off the road.
D’Albor said the driver and passenger told police officers they were run off the road by a dark-colored pickup truck. The occupants of the vehicle sustained minor injuries, but refused aid from medical personnel, the chief said.
Cleco and the New Iberia Fire Department were on scene as well, D’Albor said. Traffic in that area of Main Street was blocked Saturday night, and opened back up Sunday afternoon.
The crash is under investigation by the NIPD.
