NISH sets volleyball camp on Aug. 25

New Iberia Senior High School will hold a Volleyball Youth Camp on Saturday, Aug. 25, at the NISH girls’ gym.

Grades 1-5 are scheduled to attend the camp from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at a cost of $45.

Grades 6-8 will attend the NISH camp from 1-3 p.m. at a cost of $60.

First-year head coach Sara Robichaux said the camp will teach passing, setting, hitting, blocking, defense and serving.

The camp will be run by NISH volleyball players as well as Robichaux and several other former UL Lafayette volleyball players including NISH volleyball alum Chynna Brooks, a utility player for the Ragin’ Cajuns, and St. Martinville volleyball alum Chanelle Gardner, a middle blocker now playing professional volleyball in Europe.

Also slated to help run the camp are former Ragin’ Cajuns players Caitlyn Auxillien, a four-year starting libero and setter, and Abby Filce, a middle blocker/right side/setter. 

Robichaux was a six-rotation outside hitter for the Cajuns.
