Warren J. “Pop” Comeaux Sr.

Funeral services will be held for Warren J. “Pop” Comeaux Sr., 91, on Friday, August 17, 2018, at 2 p.m. in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Bill Melancon officiating. Burial will follow in Beau Pre Memorial Park Mausoleum with military graveside rites conducted by the U. S. Air Force Honor Guard.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 17, 2018, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and a Rosary will be prayed in the funeral home by the Men’s Rosary Group at 11 a.m. An honor guard detail will be provided by the New Iberia Fire Department.

A native of Iberia Parish and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Comeaux passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at 1:09 p.m. in a New Iberia hospital.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U.S. Air Force. He retired as Assistant Fire Chief with the New Iberia Fire Department after 30 years of service. He also was a good painter and the Basin Best Sacalait Fisherman.

He is survived by his son Warren J. Comeaux Jr.; his brothers Lonest Comeaux and his wife, Olivia, J. B. Comeaux and Richard Comeaux and his wife, Heather, all of New Iberia; his grandchildren Jeff Hunter and his wife, Christi, of Houston, Texas and Kelly Cini and her husband, Robert, of Deridder; and his great-grandchildren Phillip Cini, Victoria Andrus, Joseph Cini, Matt Andrus, Sylvia Cini and Grace Hunter.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Boudreaux Comeaux; his parents, Bertrand J. Comeaux and Ella Romero Comeaux; his daughter Susan Hunter and her husband, George Hunter; his sisters Dorothy “Dot” Vaughn and husband, Daron Vaughn and Nina Guillot and her husband, Harrison Guillot.

Serving as pallbearers will be members of the New Iberia Fire Department.
