Current situation: melting. So, it’s still approximately 134 degrees Fahrenheit outside, but Fall is on it’s way; I promise! How can I say that so confidently? Because over here at Acadiana LifeStyle we are hard at work on the September issue, where we cover football and sugar cane. I don’t think that there could be two bigger indicators of the upcoming season’s approach. Soon enough the sky will turn that special hue of autumn blue and, of course, there will be the smell of fall. This fleeting fragrance is different for everyone, but I have a sneaking suspicion that many of you would include “burning sugar cane” in your description. 

This issue is always so much fun to put together because it focuses on the things that really get our community excited! For the Football Section, we’ve been tracking down coaches and crunching numbers to give you a comprehensive look at what to expect from this year’s local teams. 

For the Sugar Cane section, we’ve been checking the outlook for this year’s harvest and relishing in all of the positive ways the industry impacts the community. Then of course there are a ton of other feature stories. For one of them I suited up in coveralls, a hard hat and wielded a baseball bat through a room full of breakables. And I did it all for your reading enjoyment. Ok, maybe a little bit (a lot a bit) for my own enjoyment. More on that in September.
