Spencer, RedBlacks beat Bombers

WINNIPEG, Manitoba — Diontae Spencer accounted for 176 all purpose yards as the Ottawa RedBlacks extended their lead in the Eastern Division of the Canadian Football League with a 44-21 win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Friday.

Spencer caught six passes for 27 yards, had six punt returns for 69 yards and four kickoff returns for 80 in the win as the RedBlacks improved to 6-3 overall with a three game lead over second place teams Toronto and Hamilton, each at 3-5.

Dominique Davis had two touchdowns rushing and Ottawa quarterback completed 29-of-39 passes for 361 yards and a touchdown.

William Powell rushed for 106 yards and touchdown and Avery Williams had a fumble return for a touchdown as well for Ottaw, which has the bye this week and will return to action Friday, Aug. 31 at home against Montreal.
