Roses Discount Store in New Iberia will be re-opening soon in New Iberia. 

The store, which is owned and operated by Variety Wholesalers Inc., announced Tuesday it has scheduled a grand re-opening Aug. 30 to showcase the newly remodeled interior. The store is located at 1150 W. St. Peter St.

The Roses in New Iberia employs about 25 people, with most of the employees living in the local community. 

“We are excited to reinvest in the New Iberia community,” President and Chief Executive Officer for Variety Stores Inc. Bruce Efird said. “Everyone loves a bargain and Roses is committed to offering great, quality items at tremendous savings, without the need for couponing and chasing down clearance sales.”

Variety Wholesalers is a family-owned business that began in 1922, and eventually grew into one of the largest privately owned companies in the United States. The company is based in Henderson, North Carolina, and owns and operates nearly 400 stores throughout the southeast.

Roses is a regional retail chain operated by Variety Wholesalers. It opened in 1915 and is also headquartered in Henderson.
