JEANERETTE — Funeral Services for Guy J. Derouen Sr., will be conducted on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at. 11 a.m. at. St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church located on St. Nicholas St. in Jeanerette. Interment will follow at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation for Guy J. Derouen Sr. will begin on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at 8 a.m. at David Funeral Home of Jeanerette located at 400 Provost Street until the time of services.

Guy J. Derouen Sr., age 75, passed away on Monday, August 27, 2018, at 9:30 p.m. at a local nursing facility.

Guy enjoyed spending time with family and friends. The two things that he really loved doing was fishing and cooking. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Marlene Lancon Derouen; children Lisa Simpson and husband, Larry, of Orange, Texas, Guy Derouen Jr. and wife, Ginger, of Youngsville, Ted Derouen and wife, Sandra, of Rincon, Georgia, Derek Derouen and wife, Renee, of Shreveport, Angie Aucoin and husband, Wade, of Covington and Chad Guillotte and wife, Hallie, of Loreauville; siblings Mary Blanchard and husband, Ambrose, of Charenton, Charles Derouen and wife, Janelle, of New Iberia, Octavia Copp of Charenton and Juilet Landry and husband, Alfred, of Franklin; brother-in-law Carol Landry; sister-in-law Betty Derouen; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Guy Derouen Jr., Ted Derouen, Derek Derouen, Isaac Sonnier, Edward Aucoin and Larry Simpson.

Guy was preceded in death by his parents, Octave “Jack” and Elodie Hebert Derouen; siblings Estelle Landry, Thelma Zimmerman, Lelia Powers, Lilly Stoute, Cleudy Derouen, Antoine Derouen, Joyce Leblanc Labiche, Rosalie Landry and Paul J. Derouen; and brother-in-law Dudley Copp.
