The September issue could not be more in contrast to the August issue. We go from lace and lovebirds to turf and tonnage. That’s right, heed the warning bell, this is not a drill…it’s football and sugar cane season. This issue takes an in depth look at both. And I have to tell you; it looks like a promising season on both fronts! As you can see from our cover, we had the chance to speak to UL’s new head coach Billy Napier. You can hear from the man at the helm of the Ragin’ Cajuns on page 6. We also have the outlook for the upcoming sugar cane season on page 44.

Speaking of sugar cane, the Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival & Fair takes place September 26-30. Because we don’t want you to miss a second of the action, we work in conjunction with the Sugar Cane Festival Association to produce the Festival Fun Guide. The Guide will hit stands on Friday, September 14. So be on the lookout for those!

There are a few new and exciting things happening around here. First and foremost, we have added a new member to the Acadiana LifeStyle team. Damian Beaugh has come aboard as our new Account Executive. If the name sounds familiar, it’s because Damian worked at Acadiana LifeStyle as the Account Executive and Sales Coordinator from 2003-2009. If you’d like to welcome him back or speak to him about advertising opportunities, you can reach him at damianb@acadianalifestyle.com.

We had so much fun working on our August bridal issue that we want to keep it going. We’re very excited to announce that Acadiana LifeStyle will now be accepting engagement and wedding announcements. For more information, you can email me at shannap@acadianalifestyle.com.
