CHS ladies rebound

- CHS falls in five
After falling in four sets to Berwick Tuesday, Catholic High rebounded in a big way Wednesday with a 25-8, 26-24, 25-13 sweep of Church Point to move to 6-4 on the season heading into the Morgan City Tournament this weekend.
Christian Viator had eight kills and five blocks to lead the Lady Panthers while Madison Bienvenu added seven kills and Abigail Richthofen had five kills and a block.
Also for CHS, Oakley Guillotte had four kills and two aces; Anna Gonsoulin had 15 assists; and Anna Angelle added 10 assists and seven aces.
Catholic High plays Sam Houston Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the boys’ gym then plays Houma Christian at 10:30 a.m. in the boys’ gym, Hahnville at 12:30 p.m. in the boys’ gym and finally Franklin in the boys’ gym at 1:30 p.m. in the MCHS Tournament.
Berwick 3, CHS 1
Catholic High’s two game win-steak came to an end Tuesday evening as the Lady Panthers fell to Berwick 27-25, 19-25, 23-25, 23-25 in a non-district contest.
Madison Bienvenu led CHS with 14 kills while Abigail Richthofen and Hana Maturin each added four kills and Christina Viator finished with three kills.
Viator and Maturin each had five blocks while Anna Angelle had 16 assists and Anna Gousoulin finished with nine assists while Emma Legros and Marlie Westcott each had two aces.
