Jefferson, Miller top in CBH tourney

MYETTE POINT — Veteran Coteau Bass Hustlers angler Charlie Jefferson and his tournament partner, Blaine Miller, got on the fish and stayed on them to win the bass club’s ninth tournament of 2018.
Jefferson and Miller’s five bass weighed 9.34 pounds Aug. 15 in the Atchafalaya Basin. The winning weight topped a 10-boat field at Myette Point Boat Landing. The winners took a long boat ride to Beau Bayou, where they caught keeper bass on spinnerbaits.
Jason Jones and Bent Suit finished second with five bass weighing 8.71 pounds. Keith Altazin was third with five bass weighing 8.24 pounds.
Doyle Louviere and B.S.D. boated the biggest bass of the scorching hot day, a 2.55-pounder.
The victory kept Miller atop the point standings going into the October tournament at Toledo Bend.
