JEANERETTE — A memorial service will be conducted for Barbara D. Stansbury, 69, on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at 3 p.m. in the David Funeral Home Chapel.

A gathering of the family and friends will be from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Barbara Gale Duplantis Stansbury, a native of Abbeville and a life long resident of Jeanerette, went home to be with the Lord on October 1, 2018, at 8:35 p.m. at The Heart Hospital of Lafayette. She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved to cook and enjoyed reading cookbooks for hours. She was an LPN at Maison Teche Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility for 15 years.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Gerald Stansbury Sr. of Jeanerette; three daughters Ann Boudreaux, Crystal Sullivan and Amy Stansbury; one son Gerald Stansbury Jr; two brothers Eddie and Mark Duplantis; one sister Sherry Webster; eleven grandchildren Alaina Comeaux, Jonah Cole, Lilli Cole, Evey Cole, Joshua Cole Jr, Joshua Boudreaux, Mason Boudreaux, Tristan LeBlanc, Holden LeBlanc, Bella LeBlanc and Cullen Stansbury.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Duplantis Sr; mother, Louise Smith; step-father, Jeff Smith, brother Clifford Duplantis Jr; nephew Jack Louviere.
