Bernadine Marie Younger

Mrs. Bernadine Marie Younger was a resident of New Iberia. She was born on March 2, 1947, in Erath, Louisiana. She passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at her residence surrounded by her family whom she loved dearly and who dearly loved her.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Bernadine was a great sister and friend. She loved playing bingo, cards and anything outdoors, especially the beach and camping. Granny was a people’s person, she loved dancing and having a good time. Bernadine enjoyed drinking coffee on the front porch with her best friend, “Sister” Judy.

She is survived by her daughter Angeline Suire Marks (Richard Broussard); two sons, Claude Wesley Younger Jr. and John Younger (Theresa Wallace); grandchildren Charise Suire, Meriah Suire Russo (Colby), Tristan Suire, Justin and Dustin, Bacardi Suire, Cole and Ariel Younger; great-grandchildren Brooklan, Kormah, Jett, Ransom, Vincent, Zaiden, Zell and Noah; three brothers, Sonny Surie (Cathy), Mickey Suire and Robbie Suire; two sisters, Butsy Suire and Judy Peltier; along with a number of nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gabriel Suire Sr. and Adaza Vincent Suire; her husband, Claude Wesley Younger Sr.; one brother, Gabriel Suire Jr.; and one sister, Janet Borel.
