Sydni Terradot, featured Aug. 5 in The Daily Iberian’s Weekend Profile as the Top 15 at the Miss Teen America pageant, has made her way up another pageant ladder. On Oct. 5-6 in Metairie at the Jefferson Performing Arts Center, Terradot took 2nd runner up in the 67th annual Miss and Teen Louisiana USA pageant.

Twenty-five teen contestants came from around the state to vie for the title of 2019 Miss Louisiana Teen USA. Terradot, 17-year-old daughter of Bernard and Anna Terradot, represented the city as Miss New Iberia Teen. As a first year member of The Crowning Moment Pageant consulting with former queen Erin Husbands, this was her first time competing in the USA pageant system.

Competition included Private Interview, Fitness and Evening Wear in the preliminary round. During finals, the field was narrowed to the top 16 and again cut to the top 10. After evening wear, the final elimination was made to the top five, which found Terradot still in contention.

The top five all answered the same question: “What life experience has impacted who you are today?” Terradot was able to speak about her personal platform, Breast Cancer Awareness, because of her mother’s personal battle with the disease which is why she raises funds for Susan G. Komen and the Miles Perret Cancer Services. Terradot placed 2nd runner up earning a top three spot in her first appearance. First runner up was Gracie Petry of Lafayette and Emma McAllister of Houma was crowned the 2019 Miss Louisiana Teen USA.

In November, Terradot will compete at America’s Majestic Miss National Finals in Georgia.
