Mildred Trahan “Millie” Racheau

Funeral services will be conducted for Mildred Trahan “Millie” Racheau, 90, at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 15, 2018, in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Richard Greene officiating. Burial will follow in Beau Pre’ Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Visitation will be on Monday, October 15, 2018, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. and the Men’s Rosary Group will pray the rosary in the funeral home at 11 a.m.

A native of Loreauville and a resident of New Iberia, Millie passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 3:58 a.m. at her residence surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

She enjoyed fishing, crabbing, gardening, sewing, bowling, the outdoors and cooking for her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Rex Racheau of Franklin, Gale Romero and her husband Hans of New Iberia, Debbie Buteaux and her husband Glenn of Jeanerette, Faye Bowen and her husband John of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and Troy Racheau and his wife Crystal of New Iberia; her daughter-in-law, Sue Racheau of New Iberia; her sister, Doris Suire of New Iberia; her brother, Ralph Trahan of New Iberia; 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Raymond Racheau; her longtime companion, Harold Courtois; her parents, Evalture Trahan and Mathilde Borel Trahan; her daughter, Diane Rahceau Walker; her son, Danny Racheau; her siblings, Claudia Viator, Louise Derouen, Murphy Trahan and Virgie LaSalle.

Pallbearers will be Hans Romero, Cagle Derouen, John Bowen, Keith Walker, Bennet Roman, MD, and Brent Racheau.

Honorary pallbearers will be Rex Racheau and Troy Racheau.
