Domestic abuse 1 of 2 charges against area man

FRANKLIN — A Franklin man was arrested for criminal damage to property (simple) and domestic abuse child endangerment Sunday morning.
Tymerlon McClain, 20, 142 Easy St., was apprehended at 11:24 a.m after a deputy patrolling the area of Franklin was dispatched to a residence on Kaylie Lane in Baldwin in reference to a domestic dispute complaint.
Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the caller who said McClain had chased the caller in a vehicle and broke the door handle off the car trying to get the complainant’s infant child out of the vehicle, according to a prepared statement from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Through the investigation, the deputy found evidence that supported the story and located McClain at a residence on Augustine Maze Street in Franklin. McClain was arrested and taken to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail was set at $4,000.
