Valerie Ann Aucoin and Joel Thomas Boudreaux were married Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at Saint Marcellus Catholic Church in New Iberia. The bride is the daughter of Jeffery and Phyllis Aucoin of New Iberia. The groom is the son of Eric and Georgia Boudreaux of New Iberia. The Rev. Gregory Chauvin officiated the 7 p.m. ceremony.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a crepe sheath wedding gown that featured a timeless Sabrina boat-neck neckline, elegant cap sleeves and a plunging V-back. The gown extended into a dramatic train highlighted by detailed crepe-covered buttons throughout its length. The bride accented her gown with a diamante belt at her waist.
For her headpiece, she wore a cathedral-length veil of tulle and Baroque-inspired lace at its hem. She carried a bouquet of roses.
Serving as matron of honor was Nicole Peltier, sister of bride. Bridesmaids were Chelsie Schales, Ellen Boudreaux, sister of groom, and Abby Boudreaux, sister of groom. Kate Peltier, godchild of bride, was the flower girl and the ring bearer was Owen Peltier, nephew of bride. Junior grooms were Lucas Aucoin and Evan Aucoin, brothers of bride.
Serving as best men were Alan Thomas and Hunter Inzerella. Groomsmen were Dylan Dore and Riad Elkhanoufi. Scott Peltier, brother-in-law of bride, and Blake Gary served as ushers.
A reception for family and friends was held immediately after the ceremony at Rip Van Winkle Gardens in New Iberia. Following a wedding trip to Saint Lucia, the couple will reside in Lafayette.
