Mosquito spraying dates, times set for Iberia

Iberia Parish Mosquito Abatement District will continue aerial operations to address persistent mosquito populations this evening and Tuesday night.
Today’s mosquito spraying operations will focus in Jeanerette, specifically from the St. Mary parish line, Pecan Lane, Rightway Road, U.S. 90 and Back Road in the east to Sorrel Rd., Old Jeanerette Road, Louisiana 182, Darnall Road, Ozenne Road, East Admiral Doyle Drive and all points in between.

Tuesday’s mosquito spraying operations will focus on Delcambre, specifically south of Lake Peigneur, Delcambre, R. Esponge, Bob Acres, Longside Road, Andras, BJ Estelle Drive, Avery Island Road and Creighton Road.
If weather conditions are favorable the mosquito spraying operations will begin near sunset and last approximately 1 ½ hours.
During this period, only hypersensitive people who wish to avoid exposure to chemicals in the target areas should refrain from outdoor activities. Otherwise, all other residents can proceed with normal outdoor pursuits.
The district reminds residents to wear repellent, cover exposed skin and avoid outdoor activity when mosquitoes are most active.
