Iberians, others continue voting early for midterm

Early voting continued Wednesday with local residents casting ballots in Iberia, St. Martin and St. Mary parishes for the upcoming Nov. 6 election. 

The total number of votes cast at the Iberia Registrar of Voters office Wednesday was 641. There were 619 in-person votes and 22 votes by mail.

So far, 1,667 early votes have been cast in Iberia Parish.

In St. Martin Parish, a total of 720 votes were cast at the St. Martinville, Stephensville and Breaux Bridge Registrar of Voter offices. Of those, 702 were cast in-person and 18 were sent in through mail. 

So far, 1,349 early votes have been cast in St. Martin Parish.

In St. Mary Parish, there was a total of 676 votes cast Wednesday. There were 248 early votes in Franklin, 428 in Morgan City and 15 votes sent in through the mail. 

On Tuesday, there were 271 votes in St. Mary Parish. Of those, 181 voted at the Franklin office, 90 in Morgan City and 271 by mail. 

Early voting continues every day except Sunday until Oct. 30. Election day is on Nov. 6.
