Three face drug charges after security check in Breaux Bridge

BREAUX BRIDGE — A Youngsville man, Youngsville woman and Scott woman were arrested early Wednesday in Breaux Bridge after St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies located two firearms, suspected narcotics, drug paraphernalia and a large amount of currency. 

According to a prepared statement, SMPSO deputies were conducting security checks at businesses Wednesday morning in the 1900 block of Mills Highway in Breaux Bridge when they noticed three men were acting suspiciously. 

After investigating, deputies located the items and arrested Jarren Carrier, 29, Youngsville; Skylar Pleasants, 25, Youngsville, and Brittany Conrad, 32, Scott. 

Carrier was charged with possession with intent to distribute schedule I CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting an officer, possession of a firearm in the presence of a CDS and monies derived from drug proceeds.

Pleasants was charged with possession of a schedule I CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm in the presence of a CDS.

Conrad was charged with possession of schedule I CDS, obstruction of justice and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Following the arrests, the suspects were booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center. No bonds have been set at this time.
