Early voting in the Teche Area continued on a steady pace Thursday.
Iberia Parish continues to have the most voters in the area who have gone out to vote early for the Nov. 6 election. St. Mary Parish is close behind and St. Martin Parish is third.
On Thursday, 486 voters showed up in-person to vote early in Iberia Parish, and 17 ballots were presented by mail. The Thursday total was 503.
The total for early voting for the first three days in Iberia Parish is 2,170.
There were 492 voters in St. Mary Parish who showed up Thursday for in-person voting. Ten other voted were received for a total of 502 early votes cast on Thursday at the Franklin or Morgan City registrar offices.
The total number of votes cast since Tuesday in St. Mary Parish is 2,166.
In St. Martin Parish, there were 532 people who showed up to vote at the St. Martinville, Breaux Bridge or Stephensville Voters of Register offices. There were also 22 mail votes.
The total number of St. Martin Parish early votes so far is 1,903.
There have been 6,239 votes cast in the early voting period in the area.
Early voting continues everyday except Sunday until Oct. 30. Vote early at your nearest Registrar of Voters office.
