Troy Patrick Landry

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018, for Mr. Troy Patrick Landry, age 51, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Church. The Rosary will be recited at 12 p.m.

The Funeral Mass will begin at 1 p.m. with Father William Blanda officiating. Interment will be private and held at a later date at Holy Family Cemetery located on Curtis Lane. The Organist will be Karen Guidry. The Soloist will be Katelyn Gulotta. 

Troy was a native of New Iberia but resided in Broussard. He was born in New Iberia on February 7, 1967. Troy passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at the Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans after an extended illness. 

Troy had a strong Catholic faith due to his uncle, Father Ralph Landry. Troy attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Broussard, but enjoyed attending St. John’s Catholic Church in Lafayette as well.

Troy was a 1985 graduate of New Iberia Senior High School. While there, he was the quarterback for the football team. He would later serve as an assistant football coach. He served as coach of the Patterson High School Football Team. Troy earned three degrees while attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He taught special needs children in Breaux Bridge and elsewhere. Troy’s hobbies included fishing, golfing and body building. He was an owner of the Downtown Fitness in New Iberia. 

The family would like to thank, Doctor of Cardiology Raghotham Patlola of Lafayette, Lafayette General Hospital and their staff of doctors, nurses and staff, and The Ochsner Medical Center of New Orleans, doctors, nurses and staff.

The family would appreciate memorial contributions in lieu of flowers to defray expenses.

Left behind to cherish his memory is his son Gabriel Joseph Landry of New Iberia; his mother, Patricia Landry of Lafayette; two brothers Ernest J. (Joey) Landry, Patrick Shawn “Packy” Landry both of New Iberia; two sisters La Donna Landry and Pamela Breaux both of New Iberia; and a number of nieces and nephews. Special mention goes to the love of his life and soulmate Carla Iguess of Broussard.

Troy was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Joseph Landry Sr., a Detective with the former New Iberia Police Department; and a brother Thomas Scott “Tommy” Landry.
