Early voting continued in the Teche Area Friday and Saturday as Louisiana’s Nov. 6 election inches closer and closer. 

Iberia Parish had a total of 647 early votes Friday and 443 early votes Saturday. On Friday, 620 local residents showed up in-person to vote and 27 were delivered by mail. On Saturday, 439 were in-person and four were sent in through the mail. 

The total number of early votes so far for in Iberia Parish is 3,260. 

In St. Mary Parish, there were 641 early votes Friday and 587 early votes Saturday. Six-hundred and forty one of those were in-person and 18 were through the mail Friday. 

On Saturday, 578 were people who showed up in-person and nine were sent in through the mail. 

By the end of Saturday, St. Mary Parish had a total of 3,385 early votes for the election. 

In St. Martin Parish, there were 597 early votes Friday and 534 early votes Saturday. 

Of those, 572 were in-person early votes Friday and 25 sent in through the mail. On Saturday, 519 were in-person early votes and 15 were sent in by mail. The total so far in St. Martin is 3,297.

The total number of Teche Area early votes is 9,942.

Early voting continues until Tuesday, but the Registrar of Voters Office in all three parishes will be closed today.
