Druilhet beat out four other players who had outstanding weeks, three of them quarterbacks, in week 9 wins.

Catholic High’s Nicholas Borne won a two-man race for Defensive Player of the Week honors.

The online poll each week of the regular season at www.iberianet.com/sports is sponsored by the law firm of Haik, Minvielle & Grubbs, with winners presented a T-shirt and certificate for the honor.

Druilhet threw for 260 yards and four touchdowns in a 26-0 District 7-2A win over Loreauville. He finished with 46.1 percent of the fan vote.

Delcambre running back Parker Nunez, who had 114 yards with two touchdowns and also had three 2-point conversions, including the deciding conversion in overtime of a 30-28 win against Jeanerette, had 34.2 percent of the fan vote.

Also drawing votes were Catholic High School quarterback Trey Amos (8.6 percent), Westgate quarterback Mar’keyvrick Eddie (7.6 percent) and record-setting Erath quarterback Luke LeBlanc (3.5 percent).

Amos rushed for 241 yards and a touchdown and passed for 106 yards and a TD in a 58-35 win over Ascension Episcopal that sewed up no worse than a share of the District 7-2A title for the Panthers. AES had been tied with CHS for the district lead.

Eddie passed for 301 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown in a 47-30 win at Rayne.

LeBlanc, who set the EHS season passing yardage record earlier this season, had 211 yards and two touchdowns in the air and 125 yards and two touchdowns on the ground in a 28-21 District 8-3A win over Patterson.

On the defensive side of the ball, Borne had two interceptions and six tackles in Catholic High’s win over Ascension Episcopal and finished with 66.5 percent of the fan vote.

New Iberia Senior High defensive back Devin Landry, who had five tackles, two tackles for loss and a pair of interceptions in the Yellow Jackets’ 28-7 loss to Sulphur, finished with 33.5 percent of the vote.

More than 1,400 votes were cast for the week, bringing the season total to more than 17,000 votes cast.
