Catholic High will play host to the All-Catholic Jamboree starting Thursday as hoops comes to the forefront in the Teche Area.

The jamboree, sponsored by Hal Rider Family Dentistry, All Creatures Veterinary Hospital, Triad Construction, Rader’s Insulation and AAA Self Storage, will involve nine teams. St. Thomas More will have two boys’ and girls’ squads, Teurlings Catholic boys and girls, Sacred Heart of Ville Platte boys and girls, Vermilion Catholic girls and boys’ and girls’ teams from host Catholic High.

The jamboree starts at 5:30 p.m. with St. Thomas More’s B team vs. Sacred Heart girls; at 6:15 p.m. it will be STM’s A team vs. Vermilion Catholic girls; at 7 p.m. it will be Teurlings vs. Sacred Heart in a boys’ game, followed by Catholic High’s girls and Teurlings Catholic’s girls at 7:45 p.m. The final game of the night will be Catholic High’s boys vs. St. Thomas More’s boys at 8:30 p.m.

Admission to the jamboree will be $7 for ages 12 and up and $5 for ages 11 and younger and concessions will be sold.

Catholic High’s regular season in boys basketball begins in the Ascension Episcopal Tournament which begins No. 19. The regular season in girls basketball begins Nov. 14 at home against Breaux Bridge.
