Boy, 4, hit by car on La. 14; dies

A Houma man was shot to death Tuesday night in New Iberia, according to the New Iberia Police Department. 

Police Chief Todd D’Albor said the homicide happened at approximately 9 p.m. on Lee Street near Park Street. Police officers were called to the scene after a report of shots being fired. 

Upon arrival, D’Albor said police officers found a man who had several gunshot wounds. The Iberia Coroner’s Office released that the victim was  identified as 50 year-old Brian Delandro, a Houma native who was residing in New Iberia. 

D’Albor said the NIPD is following leads on the fatal shooting and that more information will be released as it becomes available.
