DELCAMBRE — A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted for John Henry Langham, age 84, at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2018, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Fr. Buddy Breaux officiating. Interment will follow at the church mausoleum. Following services, military honors will for Mr. Langham will be performed in the cemetery by the American Legion.

A gathering of family and friends will take place at the church on Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until service time. A Rosary will be recited at 1:30 p.m. 

A native of Thomson, Georgia and longtime resident of Delcambre, Mr. Langham passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

John was a veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 22 years. After being discharged from the Navy he continued to serve his country as a member of the VFW and American Legion. John was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Delcambre and was dedicated to serving the church. He volunteered as a Eucharistic minister, usher, religion teacher and leading bible studies. John was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and served as their Faithful Navigator. John was a kind and caring man who enjoyed the simple life of country living. He dedicated his time to serving others and helping the community of Delcambre. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, John will be truly and deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Eloise Hebert Langham; children John H. Langham II of Delcambre, Chad P. Langham and wife, Amy, of Erath, Jason A. Langham and wife, Jaselle, of Delcambre, Christina L. Hebert and husband, Benson, of Erath and Tess L. Besson and husband, Darren, of Erath; brother Joseph Davis Langham and wife, Nancy, of Texas; grandchildren Je’an-Luc Hebert, Andre’ Hebert, Kylee Domingue, Noelle Hebert, Arianne Hebert, Gracie Langham, Dawson Besson, Madelyn Langham, Olivia Langham, Avery Besson, Caroline Langham, Teegan Langham, Jade and Chloe Mayard, Maegan and Dakota Besson; great grandson Owen Hebert.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Flavel Langham and Mary Ford Langham; brother James “Buddy” Langham; and sister Mildred Newsome.
