Rezoning for mobile home park on agenda for Franklin Council

The Franklin City Council will meet Tuesday night to discuss a rezoning for a mobile home park on property at the intersection of Iberia and Barrow streets as well as an ordinance allowing CenterPoint Energy easement access to provide gas service.

The council is also expected to pass an ordinance allowing holders of city liquor licenses to apply for their 2019 licenses.

In other business, the council is expected to introduce two ordinances. One is aimed at allowing the city to purchase the old post office building on Willow Street. A second ordinance is being introduced to nullify an ordinance passed in October to establish one-way streets in the city. 

A resolution establishing meeting dates for the council in 2019 will also be voted on.

The council will also discuss several upcoming events, including the city’s Christmas Under the Lamp Posts on Dec. 1, a city-wide clean up scheduled for Dec. 8 and a Christmas Tour of Homes to be held on Dec. 16.

The Franklin City Council will meet Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 300 Iberia St. in Franklin.
